About Silphie Substrate (part of Agrar Innovatie Nederland BV)
In 2012, four farms launched Energiepark Hahnennest GmbH & Co. KG, located near Lake Constance. In the years that followed, the seed propagation of Silphie (Zonnekroon) was developed and refined. The family business MOVO-Zaden BV picked up on this development, and Peter Schreurs, together with Energiepark Hahnennest, initiated research into the sustainable and innovative potential of this plant. In 2020/2022, AGRARINNOVATIE NEDERLAND B.V. was founded in Breklenkamp with the aim of scaling up the commercialization of Silphie fibers for the substrate market.
